The International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations

ICCCPO

- is an international network through which its member parent organisations may share information to build better links between parents and health care professionals.  

- promotes greater awareness and understanding of the issues and effects of childhood cancer on an international level with other health or child related organizations such as the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), UNICEF and WHO.  

- creates opportunities to improve access to advances in the treatment and care of childhood cancer patients, particularly in underdeveloped nations where the best possible treatment and care are not available due to lack of medications, facilities, information or other resources.  

ICCCPO mission:

To share information and experience between parent groups around the world, and with all others involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer,  in order to ensure the best possible access to treatment and care for children with cancer everywhere in the world.  

ICCCPO offers:

- working relationships and networking with parent organisations around the world

- regular newsletters featuring articles on childhood cancer and family support

- annual general meetings at which all member countries can vote

- an international listing of published resources

- representation at annual SIOP meetings

- international representation of children and family issues

- a focus on education and support of parent groups

ICCCPO believes:

- that every child with cancer regardless of financial or social class, race or native origin deserves access to the best possible treatment and medical care.  
- parents of children with cancer must have access to the information they require to make informed decisions about their child's treatment.
